Massage Therapy

Prenatal Massage

When provided by a prenatal certified massage therapist, a prenatal massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy such as backache, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema. Together you will develop a plan that will help you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and pain free while preparing your body for birth.

60 or 90 minute session

Additional therapeutic options: May be added to massage session or performed as an individual therapy depending upon the recommendation of the massage therapist.

  • Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle, non invasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviate stress and pain during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

  • Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing process of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well being.

  • Lymphatic Drainage is a form of gentle massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissue during pregnancy where fluid can build up.

  • Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Speak to your massage therapist about which options are best for you.

Postpartum Massage

Postpartum bodywork is an effective and holistic approach for many adjustments to motherhood. The unique postpartum benefits include hormonal regulation, reduced swelling, better sleep and improved breastfeeding. Massage will help to return your body to its pre-pregnancy condition, speed healing, and assists in C-section recovery.
